The Super Business Development Award for Excellence recognises and rewards the achievement of Business Development professionals within the Representative (Not-for-Profit) Superannuation Industry.

This award is open to individuals and teams whose role is to participate in the development of business for their fund.

CEOs or Fund Secretaries of AIST member funds are required to endorse the nomination of one of their Business Development staff or Team for this award.

The CEO or Fund Secretary can delegate responsibility for the nomination process to their selected representative to complete the relevant documentation.

Relevant titles/positions for Award categories:

Individuals

  • Business Development Manager and staff
  • Client Relationship Manager and staff
  • Fund Representative Manager and staff
  • Corporate Relationship Manager
  • Any other staff working within the business development area

Teams

  • Business Development Team
  • Client Relationship Team
  • Fund Development or Relationship Team

CEOs or Fund Secretaries should consider which individual or team has demonstrated the following characteristics throughout the year:

  • Relationships with peers and colleagues
  • Ethical and honest behavior
  • Ability to work independently or unsupervised
  • Commitment to achieving the organisations goals
  • Ability to prioritise workloads to achieve deadlines

Judges will be looking for the following aspects:

  • Demonstration of clear understanding of goals and purpose of the their role within the organisation
  • Strives for continuous improvement in their role
  • Ability to manage a difficult situation or task to positive resolution
  • Commitment to exceeding customer needs
  • Meeting key performance indicators

The individual or team winner of the Super Business Development Award for Excellence will be presented with a $5,000 scholarship to be used for professional development. This award is to commemorate their achievement and will be presented at the Awards for Excellence Gala Event in Melbourne, at the Sofitel Melbourne On Collins on Tuesday 14th December from 6:30pm to 11:00pm.
